I truly don't realize how old I appear to others. Very often I'm surprised by my appearance in a mirror or photograph; there's how I imagine I look, and how I actually look. It's been a long road to get here to where I, like your mother, have accepted myself as I am. It's still a shock quite often, but I'm realistic: I don't expect to look 40 when I'm 60, and I don't expect to look 60 when I'm 80. To me it's more important to like myself -- period. Your mom had the right idea. -KateBlondi Blathershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15656970490122824720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5633852516929929500.post-78283041999839844442019-01-25T19:41:53.668+00:002019-01-25T19:41:53.668+00:00Good for you Joanne!

Facelift... never! Be proud, show the world the life you have lived, this worry we all have for looking youthful is a blooming con. I well remember saying to my mum when she must have been all of thirty some, ‘I am so glad I’m not old like you!’ She laughed and replied ‘I am happy with myself as I am!’ I obviously caught her on a good day.

LXLetticehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06251998081386015052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5633852516929929500.post-89651600200907342942019-01-24T14:51:35.135+00:002019-01-24T14:51:35.135+00:00Cracks, lines and frowns appearing by the minute, ...Cracks, lines and frowns appearing by the minute, as we wait!
LXLetticehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06251998081386015052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5633852516929929500.post-25794319010496460732019-01-24T11:29:58.905+00:002019-01-24T11:29:58.905+00:00My 'awakening' of looking my age came when...My 'awakening' of looking my age came when I had to apply for a new passport a few weeks ago. It's all done online now so you can take a photograph of yourself on your phone and add it to the application and bob's your uncle. Well, if I tell you there are now 3 million selfies on my phone none of which I'm convinced are me and I also fell out with hubby telling him 'you cannot seem to take a flattering photograph of me'!! I have bags under the bags on my eyes, and my face looks much older than I'm sure it looks in the mirror! Not to mention, I had a great picture in my last passport! I eventually settled on the least bad one and to be fair, the way they attach them to the passport now you're hard pushed to see much of the detail I was dismayed about anyway but it served as a reminder that time is marching on and I need a facelift clearly!Marksgranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02870471905590321642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5633852516929929500.post-32453453548012910122019-01-24T09:00:11.485+00:002019-01-24T09:00:11.485+00:00Hoping with you for the go ahead for your move. It would take another 40 to declutter the house for starters!
I try not to look in a mirror these days. I have developed " eye bags" this last year...possibly due to taking steroids for over a year. ( down to 4mg per day
now). A dog walking acquaintance did think I was 6 years younger than I am, and another ( a man about my age) introduced me as his daughter yesterday ! I laughed.....and thanked him for being such a flatterer ! Franceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02576715462615744934noreply@blogger.com
