    1. I have seen them and never known a.) what they were called and b.) what their use was. It certainly is a beauty: almost settled me in Hythe, just like a baby with a dummy?

  2. Mmmmm, me too - there's a spot in my garden where that would look grand! As for the disappearance of your latest squeeze . . has he gone for good, leaving you to enjoy that gorgeous sea view seating area? A glass of wine, a good book and that view - what more could a girl want or need?

    1. Ms Rambler, ‘fraid to say I have so many ‘squeezes’. My squeeze of the moment is the builder; come a week on Tuesday it could well be some other unsuspecting man. Meanwhile himself is content knowing he is married to a harmless hussy!

  3. I've never particularly wanted one of those staddlestones (are they for supporting buildings, so that grain might be stored out of reach of vermin?) but I can understand the appeal of them. Better, though, is the lovely view out to sea. It reminds me of the seafront at Aldeburgh (which I live.)

    1. Right in one, although you would think an intelligent rat would easily circumnavigate these.

I love Aldeburgh too. Turner skies...
