How silly is...

this?  It seems like I have lit the wood burner 26 times since we have been here and we are not even half way through June.  I looked in last year’s diary expecting to see reference to the hot weather we were experiencing down on the coast.  Not a bit of it, not a flaming word.  I well remember just how hot it was, I can’t believe not a mention got in the diary.

I went to the osteopath this morning and have been signed off with the strict instructions not to leave it until I experience the same excruciating pain in my knee that I had last time.  Simple exercises and strict instructions not to do too many stairs and long walks are not recommended.  Which ever way you look at it, I’m stuffed...

1.) there are steps up to the top garden
2.) our stairs are twisting and turning and of varying height treads
3.) going for long walks with a dog suddenly seem a problem

Well go to the foot of our stairs... Bugger!

On my return, I said to the husband
‘The osteopath suggests we get a bungalow!’
His face was a picture!

  1. yes, get scrunched as soon as you can on injury...the longer you leave it,the longer the healing.
8C and a chill breeze here this morning. I'm using the heating every evening..wish it was a wood burner!!

    1. I am a bit of a pretend everything is fine and dandy merchant, so do tend to wait until things overtake me. This time I might take notice of her advice, well the bit about not leaving things. The steps and long walks I might not be too happy to do as I’m told though. The specialist did say the steaming up and down the hills was helping to strengthen the knee, so will carry on and at the very least take notice of what the old bod is telling me!

Still raining but toasty beside the stove! Flaming June, flaming Nora, more like!

  2. I take medical professionals advice with a pinch of salt. They talk in ideal world language (perhaps like the person/s who left the above comments). I think stairs are brilliant to keep us fit and by the time the dog comes along you'll have got yourself fit as a fiddle anyway with all those exercises you'll have done! Of course I'm not a medical professional either so maybe I shouldn't be saying any of this at all! x

    1. The bit about the bungalow was a wind-up to hubs as he knows only too well my thoughts! Stairs, yes always, never the lift, even on escalators I walk.

Pinch of salt Marksgran? Surely you know it’s bad for you? Well this week at least!

    2. I should perhaps put on here that I'm not talking about GZ when I say the person above, when I commented there were a couple of 'foreign' comments above mine!!

    1. ‘Take it easy!’ Me? You must be having a laugh Joanne? Exuberance is the name of my particular game; alright, not a good quality in an old lass I admit. All my life I’ve only ever wanted to be pale and interesting... fat chance!
