‘Guilty as charged m’lud!’

The balls have bitten the dust.

Five down and just four to go, which out of the goodness of my heart I will graciously allow to stay.  How many box balls does a girl want I ask you?  The humongous shrub roses have also been given away, leaving just the climbing roses over the garden room, two spilling into the Wrenery and one making a valiant effort to hide the obelisk.

I ought to say I am not a formal garden designer type gardener. The previous owner, a garden designer I feel hovering just at my left shoulder as I bear arms by way of a sodding spade.  With valour in every sod turned, I dig my way out of her perfection patch.  Her breath on the back of my neck quite gives me the heebeegeebees as I make my milk-maid way through the wildflower meadow vision I have of a postage stamp garden!

I am not above a little light pilfering as I wander lonely as a cloud through Ludlow.  With the sleight of hand a shop lifter would be proud, I gather seed heads while I may as I, to all intents and purposes stop to admire a plant in a garden that has made my sap rise!  I have no shame, Mother Nature smiles as I collect her bounty and redistribute it as I see fit.

This social distancing certainly suits me as happy as Larry, I potter, dream and scheme in my little piece of the rolling Shropshire Hills.

Slowly the garden is being ‘Letticed!’

    1. Yes MG, that is indeed me with my pram made by my eccentric grandfather. He made it from two orange boxes, one for the body and half for the hood and if you look carefully the other half for the basket under the handle. It was in British Racing Green, a must for a style conscious five year old!

  3. The typeset that you use, Lettice make your blog very difficult to read/see. I don't know whether you are aware of this and you prefer it that way, perhaps you do, but it makes reading it a struggle, especially on a phone.

    1. Thank you that tip Rachel, not being a mobile phone user, well apart from emergencies, I had no idea. Anybody else have the same problem? What font would be clearer I wonder?

    2. Mine is Georgia 14px and gives visual ease to reading the text. Basically your font size is ok, it is just the text is a very pale colour and a wide spacing. I hope this helps.

    3. I suspect that your blog does not have the mobile box ticked. Go to themes, drop down the box and click mobile, not desktop.

    4. I will have a look at that... but then does that mean folk who read my blog on their computer, laptop or tablet won’t be able to see it clearly? Ooh the decisions!

  4. You had a very clever Grandpa! Do you still have that doll?
    Are those curls natural?
Good luck with your new designer garden!
Love the typeset, I can read it on my desktop and ipad without my glasses on, (don't own a cell phone!)

    1. Yes, the curls are or should say were natural, with age and greying hair it has straighten.

The garden is starting to bring me joy, as I get it to my way of gardening, not at all prissy and perfect... surprised? No, I didn’t think you would be!

I had two lovely dolls, which along with my much loved teddy I haven’t clue what happened to them.
