As I look out to...

sea from under my palm, I got to thinking...
we have met much nicer people in the six months we have been in Hythe than the whole of the thirteen plus years we were in our last village.
What does that tell you I idly wonder?

Is it us that has changed or where we live?  I will leave you to decide?

  1. You are hitting the bottle more, perhaps?
    (Just teasing.)
You mentioned a palm, but I didn't realise that it was tree-sized.

    1. Oh dear! The fact we are just back from the pub has abso-blooming nothing to do with this post!?! But wait... now we have just moved it: talk amongst yourselves as I go and look at the date........ it says ‘shewing’ which might indicate that it is old... the map that is... older even than Ian... who I suspect was born in blazer and cavalry twills? No date though!

  2. We lived ten years in Wales and they were the friendliest people we have known, particularly our neighbours. They were outstanding!

    1. Words! I knew what I meant, however it is interesting to hear what initially the word palm meant to you... fascinating...

It is the sort of palm you can say... ‘Give me a bucket of sand and I will sing you a desert song!’... that sort of palm.

  4. PS You must have a marvellous sea view, Lettice! We are about a mile from the sea, up a hill.

    2. If that is the case, I hope a high tide doesn't make a nuisance of itself!

    3. Start building your ark now, tee-hee! Seriously, how lovely to have a great sea view. My ideal would be a river estuary view, such as the River Teign, which I love.

  5. It's the sea air that makes people friendly, the ozone that is breathed deeply into the lungs minute by minute and off course the alcohol too
