Frosted glass is...

so last century!
I have a yen for glass that I can see out of but people promenading past can’t look in.
Is that so awful?
Net curtains are up there with tripe in my estimation...
Naff and not something any sane person would contemplate.
Having said that I am fully aware I am coming across as a total snobberoony... have you any thoughts on net curtains?

Thinking about it I suppose they go in and out of fashion like avocado bathroom suites, flying ducks, pictures of green faced oriental women, fondue sets, bread makers and that abomination of all things culinary... a pasta machine.  Who in their right mind would want to make their own pasta?  When the Italians, who have been doing it for thousands of years (Oh, and the making of pasta?) do a very good job of it.
It is just down to us then to
totally muck it up by cooking it like our veggies until it has lost the will to live.

  1. I've never had nets - really don't like them at all.

  2. Nets = dust collectors unless you are better at housework than I am!

    1. Housework? What is that? Don’t look now Sue but I am on the cusp of getting a lady-wot-does. My builder has sung her praises and says she is always looking for some extra money. Helping the less well off and the bone idle in a stroke... what is there not to like?

    1. I expected no less, I ought to say. I would pursue it by asking intelligent questions and the like, however in order to converse with the great Ratty one has to jump through so many blooming hoops I lose the will to converse. Is his film, or specially treated glass? I would be very grateful if you could ask him next time his missive arrives by carrier pigeon.

  5. Or you could live at my house, where you don't need curtains at all except to keep the heat inside on winter nights or if you're trying to watch TV early in the morning or late evening when the sun comes in from the northeast and northwest in summer ...

I had to look up "net" curtains and I guess they are sheers or lace curtains?

    1. Hello Kate, a new reader? Wow, I thought I only had a few old (I use the term loosely!) folk that read my blog. Welcome. Yes, you are right they are sheer or lace curtains, ideal for peeping at your neighbours without them knowing! I think they are beyond the pale.
