cupboard love?
Have you heard of pantry love I idly wonder?
That is what I am in the grips of and our relationship is only in its shy glance stage.
My pantry is a virgin, newly emerging like the phoenix out of the ashes... I am unashamedly besotted... sad I know but there you have it!
This is it, I love it like a mother loves the ugly scrap of humanity that is her eagerly awaited child.
Watch this space as the pantry takes on a life of its own.
I think I need to get out more if a pantry has this effect on me.
I agree with you regarding pantries. I have had pantries in our earlier houses, but the last few houses have sadly been lacking, in this to me, an essential part of the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new born baby and know that I am envious of your new addition.

The heart of a good kitchen - is that a beautiful big slab of marble I spy?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is. A surprisingly cool cupboard. We have found such a super guy who leaves us at the end of each day almost as if we are back to normal instead of camping out in the midst of a building site.

I envy you. A house with a pantry is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI’m thinking hard, I don’t think in all my travels I have ever lived in a house with a pantry... until now!

I have just turned a lovely shade of green!! I have only a small kitchen , no " utility" room and certainly no pantry, or anywhere to have one. I did make some space a while ago by moving my cookbooks from the kitchen into an empty cupboard in another room. ( husband had bought 2 more sideboards for the back sitting room and I managed to keep the old one too!)
ReplyDeleteCooking apple green I hope Frances? I have had a lot of ribbing about my Farrow and Ball paint from the builder. My favourite paint is Craig and Rose chalky emulsion, which is in my opinion the one that has the best coverage.

Just love your pantry - I would love one but no space for one here, so I make do with a larder cupboard in the kitchen. There is a lovely book called The Pantry - It's History and Modern Uses by Catherine Seiberling Pond, makes me even more envious of those who have a lovely pantry!

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply Margaret. I have only just seen your comment, due to me looking for odd numbers in the comments as I now don’t get a nudge when a one appears. When I spy an odd number my hearts sinks thinking it is some strange person peddling their dubious wares?
DeleteThe book sounds superb, I will look out for it. My pantry is nearing completion, just needs the door hanging then I will be ready to squirrel away my goodies. I will post photo’s trying hard not to gloat!?
