‘Have a lie in!’

I said.
Surprisingly this morning he has agreed, this in itself is maybe a pointer to him feeling not as well as he claims?
I am sure Ted has this bloody awful virus.
He insists it’s just the return of the cold!  It has been going on too long now!
Friday morning I was up at four making us lemon and honey.
The cough was troubling him again early this morning.
We have been not going anywhere for weeks now just walking the dog in the woods.
Early on in all of this he insisted he would go up to the shop late evening when it was quiet, which he did.  I am the usual cavalier one in the relationship, he is Mr Sensible, the roles have been strangely reversed?

When he tried the same trick last weekend I was having none of it!

‘Look, if you’re not worried about yourself think about other innocent people!’
Boom!... have some of that I thought!  Even though I say it myself, I have a way with words!?!
Anyway it hit home.

I think more than anything it’s the not knowing?

  1. Hopefully it is still the head cold that is affecting him. I had one over a month ago ( streaming nose, sneezing etc) and am still blowing my nose and coughing a bit, though it is a bit better every day. Hope you both stay well. x

    1. Could be Frances, at least that’s what he keeps saying. It does make you wonder though?

      Thanks for the good wishes.

  2. Wondering where you got the new garden table? Are you aware our outings are for one person to go for ESSENTIAL grocery and health needs only? Or if it was ordered online are you aware that some parts of the country are only having mail delivered twice a week as the postmen are having to deliver all the stuff that people have ordered online - not ESSENTIAL stuff. Gardening stuff is NOT essential. The rules are for EVERYONE and that includes you.

    2. 'Jane' left an almost identical comment on another blog yesterday... except then she was called ' Jean'. What next, 'Anje' or 'Jena'?

  3. First I'd like to step in here and tell 'JANE' to f*ck right off and mind her own business. Who does she think she is. If you don't like what you read bug off somewhere else dipstick! Sorry, L for that rant but these blooming blog warriers drive me nuts. Not to mention she's wrong on several of her points. Anyway, my friend, I'm sorry to hear your man is under the weather again. If you phone the NHS helpline (might be 111) perhaps they can tell you if they suspect he has 'it'. I think the temperature thing seems to be a main pointer as I hear lots of people say they get their temp checked every day ie care staff in care homes. However any long term cough should be investigated, he may need antibiotics so I think it may be time to bring in those that should know! I hope it is just the return of the cold, thats the trouble now, normally at this time of year we'd all be getting all sorts of bugs and dare I say viruses but its not allowed now! Get it checked out and wishing you both well. Take really good care and delete knowitalls, well except me of course! xx

    1. You do make me laugh MG! Even now I am still chuckling and to think I thought I was the archetypal battleaxe? When this is all over I am signing up for the Dungeons & Dragons masterclass round at yours. My claws need a good old sharpen, my dragon breath needs a shot of the ole Calor gas up the you know where? Added to which my scaly skin and prickly chin could do with a sand blast at the the MG’s pop up Raptor Beauty Parlour.

      Especially love the last sentence.

  4. Hope your hubby and you fight the cold off and don't have anything more sinister going on there - a walk with the dog is a good thing to do, what a lovely dog you have - that's a very nice pic of hubby/dog.

    1. Yes, she is a lovely addition to our little family. Our reason to get out in the woods although yesterday though she was spooked by all the cyclists. She is making huge steps forward in the bravery stakes, bikes and cyclists in Ellie’s world are a worry, still!

  5. Like MG said, that cough has been dragging on..it doesn't sound like Covid19, as I have a couple of friends who have just been through it (nowhere near us, friends in South Wales and Lancashire). So ask for advice...please

    1. Thanks for the nice comment. I do enjoy doing my blog, I use it as a form of diary. It does the ole heart good to trawl back through the funny things that have happened along life’s way. I seem to have had more than most...

  8. I do Hope he doesn't have the Virus... The Man too has gone from being a virtual Recluse prior to Pandemic, to now wanting to go places! Of coarse, since Military Retirement I think having been an Adrenalin Junkie for so many Years, going out now is like taking a Walk on the Wild Side?! *Le Sigh* I used to rarely stay Home, now I won't leave the house except for a Supply Run when we're out of virtually everything... it's too much like making a Supply Run on an Episode of the Walking Dead when I leave the house! I never thought myself to be a Paranoid person but now I Eyeball every Human Being as... Infected... Not Infected? I HATE it! Be Well and Stay Safe!

    1. I love being just left alone, although I do have a pazzazz gene which I tamp down!

I am sad to hear you are seriously worried, viewing all comers as a walking death threat! In all things in life, as you well know there is a balance, just try very hard not to let the balance shift too far to the paranoid side. Easy to say I know. Be well, keep safe and live a little in your bubble.
