I now know...

why I prefer...
palazzo pants?
This morning I decided to don a pair of linen trousers.  You know the sort, those with a waistband, button and zip.
Well, I don’t mind telling you, I had convinced myself I was losing weight.  What with all the trogging up and down ladders in and out of the loft, walking, oh, alright there is usually a pub at the end of it!  Lifting and shifting, the weight was dropping off... obv!  Added to which the last time I wore them I was pleasantly surprised at the slack!?!  Must, just must, have only got better, surely to goodness?
Err... not so!
If you think about it your body is an interesting bit of kit, no matter how much exercise you do it will have the last word, it seems to take great delight in highlighting your inadequacies.  I wouldn’t mind but in my world I
like to have the last say...

  1. Well, the young gentleman's trousers fit very well. Perhaps you only need more attitude.

  2. I tried on 2 pairs of black trousers last night as we were going out.......first pair needed about 2/3 inches less of me to do up, and second pair not much better!! Will attempt to start diet tomorrow !! Fed up with rain all day today, and not looking much better for tomorrow. X

    1. Err, silly question Frances, is it a well known fact that there is a direct correlation between tight trousers and rainfall? That pearl of wisdom in geography passed me by. Mind you, I did recently ask Hubs if the Isle of Wight was north of the Thames, so anything is possible!?!

  3. Elastic waists are the way forward. Not exactly the height of fashion or elegance but certainly the most comfortable. Although I sometimes wonder if I just spread further because of them. Maybe if I knew I had to fit into 'proper' waistbands I'd make more effort?? I'll think about that one in my elastic! :D x

    1. Frances, thank you for thinking of me. Yes, life has been very busy. A lot has been happening which when I get a chance I will be back waffling on about! You can’t keep a good’un down.

  6. Yep, my body is the same. I couldn't wear most of my summer clothes because they were too tight!

  7. Why is it that we can’t just celebrate the fact as we age our body changes? I can well remember saying to my lovely mum... ‘ I am so glad I’m not old like you!’ She must have been then all of mid thirties! She replied ‘I am content in myself, that is all that really matters!’ All these years later I remember it as if it was yesterday.

A year has gone by...

and the sourdough saga continues, nothing much changes, apart maybe my level of frustration at my tarnished bread making skills of a ferment...
