Have you ever seen...

an old lass with her grey hair in bunches.  Pop in here to be met by a vision of beautiful bashful bunches.
Far too short (my hair, silly!)for a chignon, far too roughty-toughly for sleek, sophisticated, style...
bunches it is then!

On ebay I have just bought a oversized coat with lots of pockets, oh and a very swish extra large bag. Where and when I am going to have the occasion to don either is an interesting concept?
With eager excitement I await the finish date of a dress to equal the tent I bought the other day.
A parcel arrived with a lovely ebay purchase, I do love a dress.
I ironed it, admired it, hung it up in the garden room to admire it a bit more.  Eventually I will put it in the wardrobe to join the other recycled things bought and not had the occasion to wear section.
Although great excitement an invitation has arrived for drinks in the garden of a neighbour on the 12th, only six of us, mind!  It raises more questions than answers...
Which new dress shall I wear?
Will I be brave enough to get my legs out?

Most importantly can you go to a posh party with your hair in bunches?

I could always work a feather or two into the up-do...
a pigeon feather... obv!

For MG...

  1. I reckon you could carry it off beautifully. How about some long peacock feathers/pheasant tail feathers just to help with the social distancing?

Could you be thinking of taking up either poaching, or shoplifting? (thinking about your coat with many pockets).

We had our first 'social' invitation yesterday, quite a shock to the system after all these weeks of being homebodies.

    1. Yes, Elaine as the husband would say... I do have previous! I well remember as only you will know (?), how I once attended a rather special garden party in a dress that had seen better days. Most attending spent their entire annual dress allowance on the outfit plus hat obviously! If someone could be known for wearing the totally, like totally inappropriate outfit look no further than here. That coat, I had to have, I do love a pocket or three, the fact I don’t go anywhere and even in the normal world I didn’t much, is a mere bagatelle.

The invitation I will enjoy, as we will be introduced to folk who like me love the north west coast of Scotland. I am looking forward to that and naturally talking to someone other than the dog and moaning at the husband will be a refreshing change.

  2. Oh yes, you can always go to a party with your hair in bunches ... if you are wearing the right dress and suitably boho shoes.

I think I'd have a minor panic if someone invited me to a party at the moment. Lockdown has completed the introverted me.

    1. Boho has always been my style of dress, shoes mainly because my wide feet need something stout and serviceable. Strappy with high heels... a definite no-no... like lipstick on a duck.

This lockdown has encouraged my latent recluse gene. I yearn to wander off with spotty hankie on a stick jauntily popped over my shoulder. Stylishly dressed for a tramp, with just the whiff of the great unwashed as passing me by you press a guinea into my outstretched grubby hand. You get my drift I’m sure?

  3. Oh please please put on a photo of you in bunches with your dress and coat on ready for the party! I love your confidence to do such things. I aspire to boho but I'm a very very conservative dresser. I too have just ordered myself an outfit I've no idea when I'll wear, its a maxi skirt and a white linen blouse which will hopefully complete the look. If I tell you I already have several maxi skirts which I seldom have cause to wear you'll know this one will join them and be seen seldom. At home I live in joggies or shorts and in normal times I'm very much in jeans/trousers though I want to wear skirts but find I then have to have shaved legs and 'nice' shoes and well, lets just say thats a step too far! I'm determined to try to be more 'me' when this is all done and dusted so I'll let you know how that works out!! x

  4. That's a Cute Hairstyle! I am a lot less inhibited about Hairstyle with Dreadlocks, any old way I do them seems acceptable and doesn't seem like a Bad Hair Day. But I do remember the Bad Hair Days and High Maintenance Hair Years ago when I didn't have Dreads and I HATED it. During Pandemic so many people I know are suffering with their Hair since they can't go to a Salon now... I don't even have to brush or comb mine ever again in this Lifetime... which is just how I Like it. *Winks*

    1. Good for you! Will you ever get them cut and start again? My dental hygienist has them and she is always saying she will and then never does. I suppose as you say not having to worry about your hair or having a bad hair must be bliss. Only prob is finding a stronger scarf to tie them up as they grow, or do you cut some off the ends to keep them under your control, as opposed to theirs?

A year has gone by...

and the sourdough saga continues, nothing much changes, apart maybe my level of frustration at my tarnished bread making skills of a ferment...
