I bought a coat...

a corduroy coat.  Cut from the cloth of dreams, my pash for many a year, to own a corduroy coat.
Yesterday my world tipped on its axis a micrometer width of whisker as I happened upon it in a charity shop.  Weighing in at least three sizes too big.  Was that a problem?
Oh dear me no,  not after the time I have patiently waited for that very coat to cross my path.
The size of a poachers coat,  rabbit a plenty, a brace of pheasant, a wild salmon or two I could slip so easily into the capacious confines of my new corduroy Crombie?
I could entertain a man within and nobody would be any the wiser.
A man for all reasons lost in a coat for all seasons.

Alright the shoulders skulk half way down my upper arms, hoping no one will notice their decline and fall. For once I can accommodate my matronly bosoom comfortably buttoned up, with ample room to spare.  A nipple nirvana.  My cups  runneth over... encased in corduroy.

  2. Sounds just the ticket, perfect for this slightly autumnal weather. What colour is it?

Expect heat to hit us soon, I have packed away most of my summer clothes.

    1. Well, to be honest Elaine I think it is dark navy? I am not actually sure as I am still in shock about finding it after all this patiently watching and waiting carry on. Worrying I know?

My summer clothes never really came out or maybe they did and I just didn’t notice? Living in Ludlow my sartorial elegance hasn’t really been given an airing for some strange reason, no idea why?

  3. Yes, what colour? I’m imagining navy, claret, a subtle dark green ... or was it coral pink, tangerine or turquoise. Oh, the suspense!

    1. Navy is my best guess. Look Val, beggars can’t be choosers. In my dreams it would have be a jewel-like colour of sapphire, ruby or emerald, as it is, it is blooming navy! I am happy even though I shall swan around Ludlow like Worzel Gummidge, in an XXXL coat, minus the straw poking out of collar and cuffs, mind!?!

    1. Are we stylist or wot? Mine is a coat, not a jacket which has been the main problem, corduroy coats seem to be a rare breed.

  5. Not for one minute I do believe you are going to walk around in a three size to large coat, and what about driving the car with all that bulk around you?! You probably bought it to make pillows out of it, right?.......We need to see a picture of it.
    Glad to be back!

    1. Lassie you have no idea! That is exactly what I will do. I never drive a car in a coat, just driving gloves and a flat cap!?!

    1. I did yes, although I so seldom do these days, like never! I now know why I don’t bother!

MG you would be surprised at the funny things that over the years have happened to me, or maybe not?
