Goodbye cruel blogger world...

lettice leaf is feeling the vinaigrette mafia circling.  On her birthday she will be gobbled up by the new improved (I think NOT?) salad dressing called the ‘New Blogger Format’.  The only reason it would appear, is for readers on their mobile phones,  as they blunder into lampposts, step off the pavement into the path of an oncoming artic lorry?  Or worse still knock folk off their bicycles and into the path of the truck, who could so easily not see them as the driver is busy texting behind a wheel.
If Covid doesn’t get you, your freaking mobile will!

The only slightly redeeming feature is at least when I get eaten up by the powers that be, I will be a healthy ingredient for them to masticate.  Just wish I’d called myself ‘Big Whopper’ then I could at least clog up their arteries and over time they would decide back to the healthy, simple and easy to use...

  1. I opened blogger today to find it has automatically moved me to the new format. It was much better than when I first gave it a go early in June, they have at least put in the 'new post' button again, thank goodness. I've not tried to insert photos or anything yet, the post I put on was already written and ready to go so I may come back for a moan if things get complicated! Anyway, we can't be old ladies here, come on we can do this!! x

    1. Same here! The real question is... can I be arsed!?! The answer probably is NO! Well that is until I get withdrawal symptoms and I start to miss it. Then a large slice of humble pie will be eaten and back I will come... maybe?

  2. I use my smart phone a lot for blogging and I can tell you that the new blogger has made not one jot of difference to the experience if that is any consolation. If anything it has made it slightly worse because the publish, save and update buttons are not so easy to access as before on the phone screen.

    1. That’s interesting Rachel, so why I wonder? New and improved seems to be the way forward. Not if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, that doesn’t seem to carry any sway,

    2. I find it on balance not that much different to the old blogger, esp. on my laptop.

  3. Please don't leave! I am using a tablet to blog instead of my usual laptop and I am finding no difficulty...it's just getting used to the same things in slightly different places xx

    1. I always blog on my ‘flat thing’ (tablet). I need to know that it will give me the same joy that this format does. I can’t really see the sense in changing something if it ain’t broke? Call me old fashioned..... NO, on second thoughts call me anything but NOT old fashioned!

    1. These infernal machines are my Achilles heel sadly. I limp along cussing at every tottering ruddy step! Mind you, I don’t give up easily! I will try!

  5. Lettice, don't let them fool you. Nothing has changed except where they put the effing buttons. If you can make sourdough bread, you can locate and use and remember every one. Please.

    1. It’s not so much the change of layout as the problem folk have referred to regarding photographs’n’stuff. Joanne, you wouldn’t believe the things I’ve mastered over the years from a very embarrassed mucking about initial start, wailing I can’t do this! Then I only crack it, after much faffing and laughing. That in a nutshell is why I never did hugely well at school, too busy thinking I can’t when in fact I flaming well could! Shame that!

A year has gone by...

and the sourdough saga continues, nothing much changes, apart maybe my level of frustration at my tarnished bread making skills of a ferment...
