As quiet as a ....

mouse, peace has fallen over this little piece of Ludlow and the river Teme.

This is the reason...

if you haven’t read it I suggest you do.
A masterclass in how the brave face their problems, dust themselves off and tackle the new world they find themselves in.

Fortune favours the bold.

How true that is.

  1. Now you have me intrigued with this book. I admit to being a bookaholic and just ordered two biographies of Clementine and Winston Churchill. I have so many books, but can always squeeze in one more.

    1. Spoil yourself. It will be worth every penny. I would have sent this to you however it is on loan from my neighbour. The odd thing was when I got it I thought this rings a bell, quite by accident looking through last year’s diary there it was... a recommendation to self to buy.

      Enjoy.

  2. My best read of 2018, I borrowed it from the library, but I may well buy it to keep at some stage.

    1. Like you I then go out and buy a library book I have read and enjoyed. It does two things, keeps both the libraries going and the bookshops... err... or maybe Amazon I shamefully admit!

  3. I love it when I find a really good book. One of my favourites from last year was Queenie Malones Paradise Hotel by Ruth Hogan. I think I like lighter weight tomes than you though. xx

    1. This is not a difficult book to read, it is non fiction, truly inspirational. I suggest to read it whenever the library reopens. It sure as hell puts my petty niggles into perspective.

  4. Wonderful; another person has read that fabulous book. I've been through it three times. When I need a pick me up.

  7. I have pre-ordered the sequel, "The Wild Silence", which will arrive on 3rd September. Can't wait to read it - we all want to know 'what happened next', don't we? And an added pleasure for me - it looks as though they settle in my beloved Cornwall, so hopefully I will be very familiar with the places mentioned.

A year has gone by...

and the sourdough saga continues, nothing much changes, apart maybe my level of frustration at my tarnished bread making skills of a ferment...
