The greenhouse has...

landed!

I can’t actually believe it!
We have been sensible and have kept our distance, the workmen’s refreshments I set up in the little kitchen in the garden room.
This time I was even more measured  and didn’t do the usual domestic goddess caper, making cakes, biscuits and other treats... just an unopened packet of quality biscuits.  I know how to treat a man!?!
I have put brightly coloured paper bunting into the greenhouse as a way of alerting the birds as to its presence.  The birds are used to flying away from the Wrenery in just that direction.  Best be safe than sorry.

With no veg. seeds and very little compost I am stuffed for the time being.  I will have to revert to my old ways of feet up reading a book with a chilled glass of wine type gardening... it will be tough, but I might just manage it!

  1. What a lovely greenhouse, I'm very jealous. If you need veg seeds get yourself to the supermarket when you next need 'essentials' and buy a copy of one of the gardening magazines. They have lots of 'free' seeds in them. Thankfully today I'm beginning to get my mojo back. Today I washed my windows before putting up the new curtains I bought for my decorated room back in January! They have kicked round the house since I got them waiting for me to get round to putting them up and today that moment arrived! I usually get there eventually!! They look lovely and it inspired me to dust the room too so I have one sparkly room in my house! This afternoon I sat and watched a film with a drink and a packet of crisps in hand - nice! I may copy your bunting idea - I have some ribbons in the doorway to persuade birds to stay away as I kept finding birds in there in the summer when I left the door open to cool it down however I think the ribbons also keep bees away and much as I don't want bees trapped in there, its good for the plants to see a few! Are you still eyeing up hubbys book or do you have your own for now? Stay out of mischief! xx

    1. I had no idea you had mislaid it MG? Crumbs you’ve made me go pale in wonder about the new curtains. Made me smile about the afternoon film watching, hopefully the munching didn’t wake him wot ‘looks’ as he snoozed in his armchair?

The bunting, let’s face it looks a bit naff, however I will keep it there until the birds get used to the greenhouse.

Neither of us have picked up our books for two days he said as he climbed out of bed this morning! We have been far too busy, doing what...? God knows? That will change today!

We when up to Clee Hill at four. Then on the news found out we shouldn’t have! I felt awful flouting the rules... hold on... I don’t usually worry about flouting rules... ooh err...

I do love your War and Peace offerings, even the husband said just this morning MG leaves lovely long comments... not that I’m encouraging you... mind!?!

  2. such a beautiful greenhouse, quite jealous as I haven't a lot of room and have ordered one of the mini greenhouses today. Have got some seeds but they are old so hope they will grow.

    1. Yes it is a beaut! Your mini greenhouse will do a super job I am sure. The seeds fingers crossed will grow, they desire to live just the same as we all do. Let me know how you get on.

  3. Very nice indeed... don't forget that certain supermarkets sell seeds as well as food...and compost....

    1. We are still self isolating from these horribles we have had and to a certain degree still have, so supermarkets aren’t an option. I do have lots of flower seeds all nectar rich for the bees etc, so witch-like I will make a cauldron of the top soil left over from the levelling, a tiny amount of multi purpose and seed compost. I have the time! At least I will enjoy the pottering in there, husband will have peace, a winning combo.

    1. Yup! The colour matches the colour allowed by the listing people for our cottage. Don’t suppose they will be around anytime to check though? Strange times we live in, hope you are well?
